Japan 2025 Photos Part 1 - Landing in Tokyo

So this was a long time coming. 2025 was a great but turbulent year. A year of huge transition and I haven't really had a chance to reflect on our long two weeks in Japan or get these photos up anywhere. And frankly... there is no where to get them online that I really trust anymore. Which is one of the reasons I created this new blog. It's a place for my writing, for me to do what I want, but as a way to post photos in a place I own as well.

We landed in Tokyo on a cold early spring day and began our Adventure!

After getting French toast at the fantastic Cafe Aaliya we headed down the street towards the Square Enix ARTNIA with a stop over at the Hanazono Shrine.

We continued to run around the city and do some shopping, and fight jet lag, The sakura and spring in general were in bloom.

But it was still cold, and wind was picking up and rain was starting to come down. Which wouldn't have been the biggest deal except I had booked a cruse through the canals of Tokyo in order to look at the blooming Cherry Blossoms. When we got to the dock it was clear that bailing might be the best option... but I already pre-paid for these tickets...

Something is lost in the beauty of the Cherry Blossoms when you are shivering and desperately trying to keep warm. It was probably in the high fifties with wind and rain by the time the tour was over. But it did make dinner that much better...

You can see some more of our first day in Tokyo in my video from the day:
